Mannschaft Engineering Partners with Surbana Jurong

Mannschaft Engineering and Infrastructure Systems Ltd has entered into a partnership with Surbana Jurong Infrastructure Pte Ltd of Singapore to support planning and development activities for Ghana’s Petroleum and Petrochemical Hub.

On 1st September 2025, Mannschaft Engineering and Infrastructure Systems Ltd signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Surbana Jurong Infrastructure Pte Ltd in Singapore to support the development of Ghana’s Petroleum and Petrochemical Hub.

This partnership aims to bring advanced planning, engineering design, and sustainability solutions to help shape Ghana’s future energy and industrial infrastructure.

Partnership Details

The Petroleum Hub project is one of Ghana’s largest planned industrial initiatives.

Under this MoU, Surbana Jurong will support the planning and development work through:

• Master plan

• Engineering design

• Pre-feasibility and feasibility studies

• Business case development

• Decarbonization plan

Mannschaft Engineering will help finance and coordinate the key deliverables required by the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation.

This partnership will help Ghana create a modern energy and petrochemicals hub with strong economic and environmental benefits.

About the Petroleum Hub Project

The US$60 billion Petroleum Hub Project represents one of Ghana’s most ambitious industrial initiatives, set to transform Jomoro in the Western Region into a world-class energy and petrochemical hub. Designed to be a cornerstone of Ghana’s industrialization agenda, the hub will serve as a catalyst for investment, job creation, and sustainable economic growth.

The project will feature:

  • Three state-of-the-art refineries with a combined processing capacity of 900,000 barrels per stream day (BPSD).

  • Five cutting-edge petrochemical plants with a minimum capacity of 90,000 BPSD.

  • Modern storage facilities with a total capacity of 10 million cubic meters.

  • Two ultra-modern jetties to streamline import and export operations.

Once operational, the Petroleum Hub will position Ghana as a premier petroleum and petrochemical hub in Africa, enhance regional energy security, and promote economic integration and industrial competitiveness across the continent.
